很多人認(rèn)為中國(guó)夢(mèng)應(yīng)該是Chinese Dream，而實(shí)際上，China Dream和Chinese Dream都可以，但是官方的表達(dá)是China Dream。隨著中國(guó)在國(guó)際上的影響力越來(lái)越大，中國(guó)夢(mèng)這個(gè)詞也被炒的越來(lái)越熱。

“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的出處：

When Xi Jinping was inaugurated as China's President during the National People's Congress, he gave a speech on “the Chinese Dream”， according to People's Daily:

習(xí)近平在全國(guó)兩會(huì)上就職國(guó)家主席時(shí)，發(fā)表了一篇關(guān)于“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的演講。根據(jù)人民日?qǐng)?bào)的報(bào)道：

“To achieve a comprehensively well-off society, to build a prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, and harmonious modern socialist country and to attain the Chinese dream of the great renaissance of the Chinese nation is to achieve prosperity, revitalize the nation, and bring about the happiness of the people…”

“實(shí)現(xiàn)全面建成小康社會(huì)、建成富強(qiáng)民主文明和諧的社會(huì)主義現(xiàn)代化國(guó)家的奮斗目標(biāo)，實(shí)現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興的中國(guó)夢(mèng)，就是要實(shí)現(xiàn)國(guó)家富強(qiáng)、民族振興、人民幸福……”

中國(guó)夢(mèng)的概念英語(yǔ)介紹：

China Dream is a phrase appearing during and after establishment of the new Chinese leadership in 2012-2013 used by the government and journalists in the People's Republic of China to describe the aspiration of self-improvement in Chinese society.

中國(guó)夢(mèng)這個(gè)詞語(yǔ)是繼中國(guó)新一屆中央領(lǐng)導(dǎo)集體成立后在政府和媒體中頻繁使用的一個(gè)詞語(yǔ)，它用來(lái)激勵(lì)在中國(guó)社會(huì)中實(shí)現(xiàn)自我提高的那些人。

The concept of China Dream is very similar to the idea of “American Dream”。 It stresses the importance of entrepreneurial spirit. It also glorifies a generation of self-made men and women in post-reform China，such as those rural immigrates who moved to the urban centers and achieve magnificent improvement for improving their living standards. China Dream can be interpreted as the collective consciousness of Chinese people during the era of social transformation and economic progress.

中國(guó)夢(mèng)和美國(guó)夢(mèng)在觀念上具有很大的相似性，都強(qiáng)調(diào)艱苦奮斗的精神。中國(guó)夢(mèng)也同時(shí)贊美在改革開放后自力更生的一代人，例如很多農(nóng)村人為了更好的生活移居到城市中去謀發(fā)展。中國(guó)夢(mèng)也被用來(lái)解釋為中國(guó)人在社會(huì)轉(zhuǎn)型

和經(jīng)濟(jì)變革后的一種集體意識(shí)。

中國(guó)夢(mèng)到底應(yīng)該翻譯成China Dream還是Chinese Dream?

“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”是當(dāng)今最重要的一個(gè)話題，然而它的英文翻譯十分混亂，有的翻譯成“China Dream”，有的則是“Chinese Dream”。而且第一種譯法明顯占上風(fēng)，各大媒體、宣傳廣告、甚至官方的同聲翻譯都用的是“China Dream”，然而正確的翻譯應(yīng)該是“Chinese Dream”。理由陳述如下：

一、“China”是個(gè)國(guó)家概念，“Chinese”是個(gè)民族概念。“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的經(jīng)典定義是“民族振興”和“偉大民族的復(fù)興”，它是攸關(guān)普天之下所有炎黃子孫的功業(yè)，包括海內(nèi)外的所有華人，所以只有“Chinese Dream”才能準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)出其核心意思。

二、“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”是根據(jù)“美國(guó)夢(mèng)”而來(lái)的，而“美國(guó)夢(mèng)”的英文為“the American Dream”，而不是“the America Dream”。英文里，America（美國(guó)）對(duì)應(yīng)于China（中國(guó)），都是指的國(guó)家；American（美國(guó)人）才對(duì)應(yīng)于Chinese（中國(guó)人），都是指的屬于這個(gè)國(guó)家的人。所以，只有Chinese Dream才與American Dream能夠?qū)?yīng)起來(lái)，兩者的表達(dá)才平行。

“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的真正規(guī)范英文應(yīng)該是 “（the） Chinese Dream”，其中的定冠詞the在廣告用語(yǔ)或者書名中可缺省；因?yàn)槭菍Ｓ忻~，“Dream”的第一個(gè)字母要大寫。

【講解】

“中國(guó)夢(mèng)”的英語(yǔ)官方譯法為China Dream。有關(guān)中國(guó)的詞語(yǔ)很多，這里我們引申一下，a Chinaman's chance 指“勝算很小”；Chinese restaurant syndrome 指“<貶>中國(guó)餐館綜合癥”，暗諷中國(guó)飯菜質(zhì)量差；Chinese whisper意思是“中國(guó)式耳語(yǔ)”，指在傳播過(guò)程中逐漸走樣的消息。
